i searched out this store because they (at one time) carried a specific item i wanted to buy. they didn't have the item in stock any longer, but, i was told, they could order it. however, the owner (?) was completely unhelpful to his nice salesperson who was trying to find the item for me with his (un)assistance. i was told to call back on a weekday as the manufacturer was closed over the weekend. when i called back, i spoke to the owner, who gave me a lot of "yeah.......i don't know......not sure........you could call the manufacturer....maybe there's another vendor in town, but i don't know their name........". good lord! if he didn't want my business, WHY NOT JUST TELL ME SO?!? the irony is that i can order the item from various online sources, but i like to try to support local sticks & bricks stores when i can.

I accidentally found this place while shopping with a friend. They have unique furnishings at reasonable prices. I found a gorgeous wool rug for under $400 and curtains that still get compliments from houseguests for under $35.

My sister dragged me out shopping in SE, and Portico was a wonderful find. They have affordable and attractive couches as well as many cute accessories for your home. I loved their mirrors and end tables! It's so refreshing to be able to shop at a small local furniture store and find things I want to buy.
