We have resided at one of Norris & Stevens properties for 7 years. Management has been courteous and professional. When we moved in every resident is given a booklet upfront of the Rules & Regulations for Better Living which outlines everything. My advise...read your contract and read the book...it will make for a comfortable stay and you will be proud to call it your new home. The company does this so that it makes for a great apartment complex. The complaints I have reviewed are ridiculous angry persons that didn't get what they wanted. Mold on windows from condensation! Come on everyone knows to crack a window for ventilation! We live in the Northwest and persons wanting to bring in a pet "without paying a pet deposit"...come on..would that really be fair? I am happy we rent from a company that does have rules!

Norris & Steven picks on the children of immigrants and violates federal and state housing laws. Why don't they pick on somebody there own size?

Fortunately for all Oregon tenants, some tenants stood up for themselves, and as a result, the illegal and unethical practices of Norris and Stevens were exposed and punished. This will encourage other abused tenants to also stand up to them.

Do not rent from Norris and Stevens. I began renting a year ago and when I moved in it was ok but as soon as management changed over everything turned to shit. I was told that I would have to pay a 400 dollar pet deposit one week and then told 3 days later that they would need 800 dollars for pet deposit for my dog. After yelling at management I went to find another place. I was only given a week before they decided to evict me since I would not give them the outrageous pet deposit. Rent increased twice in a year and no maintenance was done in the year I lived there. I had mold growing on my windows do to condensation and hardly any insulation in apartments which resulted in 300 dollar electric bill. My suggestion is to stay clear of Norris and Stevens unless you want them entering your apartment and want them to screw you over.

Concerned Renter

I found it very interesting to go through this company for a temporary rental. All seemed well... we checked out, received notification from the manager the place looked fine, etc. Rather than get a security deposit in the mail, we received a bill for twice our deposit. It was like we paid for 4 months instead of 2. Still working with Norris and Stevens to find if they made a mistake, so we'll see if they figure things out. For now, I consider it a very poor business model to rely upon excessive fees in order to make profit. Hopefully it is the case that they made a simple mistake.

I often times wonder, where oh where, these bad ratings come from. Could it be for some reason, such as; residents did not pay their rent on time or they have more people in their apartments than is on their rental agreements and the manager has had to get on them about it? It seems odd to me there are that many resident unsatisfied with N&S properties. You could ask our residents how they feel about us and they will tell you they are happy with us. But, a few would say not as they are the ones we have had to send notices of one kind or another too, or have sent them 30 days notices to move for being out of compliance with our rules and regulations. It seems as if you never hear from the many satisfied residents and all you hear from or the ones with a big gripe of some kind or another.

I must tell you we know alot of the managers and they are good managers, ones Norris & Stevens can be very proud of. So, before you believe all you read here about us as managers, take the time to check us out and see for your self!!
