surprisingly honest - Extremely refreshing
I live close by and really didn't know this shop from a hole in the wall. I grew up working on cars, but transmissions are beyond me. I asked around at the local tire shop (it's a local chain and I thought best not to mention them by name here) and they pointed me here. My tranny on my 2002 chev suburban was acting up and I needed them to drop the pan and take a look. I feared the worse. NOPE! He said all clean and just needed a routine maint. - $150 or so and I was done. I expected $1,200+
So I had them replace my serpentine belt too. No gouging - same price as the lowest quoted on the phone by other places. Two months later my suburban is running great - That's why I'm writing this review - I'll be taking my other car there for maint when it's time. Can't remember the managers name, but he was just simple and bottom line.

Pros: Honest, on time - repairs only what needs to be done & doesn't sell you what you don't need
Cons: The manager is an older guy, so he's not into customer service sales routine. Go there to get the job done right, not for the atmosphere

NEVER EVER GO HERE!
Let's just put it like this: $460.00 for battery cables. Not battery cables to fix my car. Battery cables to tell me what was wrong with my car so that they could then start to fix it. WTF? I went to the electrical service dept. to get my car working right. Now, I tend to trust people. Like to give them the benefit of the doubt. But after Master Mechanic I am a born-again cynic and hater. Did you know that battery cables are priced at approximately $20.00 a piece at any local auto store? This would mean, at Mater Mechanic, $400 in labor for battery cables!!! When I approached the technician about my concern regarding his plan of action and pricing, he got aggravated, defensive, rude, and aggressive. I quickly left and sought out a different diagnosis. Turns out, battery cables had little to do with the problem (final battery cable cost: $4) and the total for the final "fix" (new alternator, fuse box maitnenace, and diagnositics): $430.00. Weird. Master Mechanics would have fleeced me clean and probably charged me a tax for attitude: theirs, not mine.

Please don't go here unless you have money to spare and enjoy poor customer service.
