Fun & friendly teaching magic shop!
We first came into Magic Fest several years ago on our way home from Legacy Emmanual Hosp. after my sons appt. We enjoyed looking around the shop. They sell magic tricks, at all skill levels from beginner to advanced & carry books and dvd's on the subject. We had lots of fun looking at alot of the costume type things they. We told him he could pick out so something & we could figure out how it worked on our trip home. After purchased the trick Mark the owner told our son he would show him how it worked! But first my huysband & I Were very politely asked to step out of the shop into mall area so that he could teach Him the trick!!! & that a just thrilled our son, So only he would know how to do it!!. After that for several weeks he cared that trick with him and enjoyed amazing people where ever he went!!! Even complete strangers children and adult alike!! Now when ever we travel Portland for one of his doc. appointments we have to stop by the Magic-Fest. A couple of times a year they feature different proffesional Magicians from around the U.S. who present Learning Seminars with limited seating for all ages and skill levels. If you are looking for a new hobbie or in the area of Janzen Beach Mall This is a great store to check out!!

OVER PRICED AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I went to Magic Fest when I first started learning magic and could already tell that ALL of Marc's merchandise is severely overpriced. After a few months of short visits to the shop, I signed up for my first magic lecture featuring Micheal Vincent (amazing magician). I payed over a month in advance to get "front row" seats. The night of the lecture/show, Marc, the owner, was no where to be seen and the kid working at the shop didn't help us find where Mr. Vincent was performing. After walking through the mall for nearly a half an hour we found that one of the greatest magicians was being forced to perform and teach in an abandoned store in the mall. My friends and I had to pull benches from the mall into the abandoned store just so the majority of people could have seats. After the show, Micheal Vincent apparently had not been paid, and the owner of the shop, Marc, was still nowhere in sight. After such an insult to a great magician I will NOT be returning to Magic Fest to buy any ridiculously priced magic, instead I would drive another hour South to Albany, OR to a far superior magic shop.
