Response to Joe P from Gary Swank Jewelers
Joe P came into our store and asked that we tension set a stone for him, but we said we did not recommend setting it that way because if the ring was bent accidentally the stone could come out. Gary Swank specifically told Joe that more metal should be added, but he was not willing to change the design. Because he had been warned of the risks and said he was willing to accept them, we went ahead and made the ring. A few month later his wife, who was a PE coach, was playing volleyball when the ring accidentally flew off of her finger and into the air. It came down and landed on the concrete in the wrong place bending the ring and causing the stone to fall out. Joe came back to us with the stone and ring and wanted it repaired. We were not willing to re-set the stone without adding extra support to improve upon the design he had originally come in with. Joe was not willing to listen to us, and wanted it made the exact same way. Eventually he left the store and within 2 hours he posted around 20 reviews trying to ruin our reputation. We tried to contact him after that but he has not responded to this day. We have been able to get all the other reviews removed, but unfortunately the administrators of this website have not been willing to take it down yet. We have been in business for over 30 years, and would not have lasted any where near this long if we didn't do good work. Please come into the store or visit www.garyswank.com in order to get a better idea of what the real Gary Swank Jewelers is like.
