Forget all you think you might know about weighting lifting
Kettlebells are the original form of organized weight lifting. The basic moves engage your whole body and core. Forget all you think you might know about weighting lifting that you have learned your high school football coach or mainstream gym that only make you strong in very limited ranges of motion. The kettlebells come in many sizes so you can start small to get the basics down. There are four levels of ability classes and you will progress quickly. Don't let age stop you, I have been in class with folks in their teens to their mid 70s. I am closer to 50 than 40 and noticed my arms and shoulders are much more solid and my endurance has greatly improved. Don't be afraid it will be a bunch of meat headed weight lifters either, group classes are small and friendly. If you have an existing sports injury there are quite possibly "work arounds". New class agendas are generated daily, I have never had the same workout twice. A warm up is part of the program as well as a good stretch to warm down. If you are looking for encouragement it is a very positive environment, I have never know a better place. As you progress and seek the occasional feat of strength contest of your choosing, more than likely someone will be there to give you some friendly competition. Many other gyms are offering similar programs, after spending some time here you will be able to spot the imposters. Different rate structures are available to meet your desired needs, a 10 pass will put you in the range of $12 a workout (and you will know where the money went!) Henry J. Bauer
