Carol, who offers up her name with absolution, is the most sarcastic and rude example of a sales person I have ever encountered. I have no doubt that if Big 5 Corporate offices reviewed the interaction Carol has with their customers, they would find Carol to have a lack of social skills, an egotistical rudeness and they would see that the condescending attitude Carol has with their customers is a total turn off. If I were Carols employer I would find her attitude an invitation to be let go! Carol has a disposition that is unacceptable and I will never purchase another thing from Big 5 because of Carol, and Carol alone! Big 5, I am sorry, but your Lancaster Drive store in Salem, Oregon would get a big fat ZERO for my rating if it werent a required field for this review submission, I had no choice but to give the store a one (1) star rating. We love BIG 5 for Sporting Goods and shoe sales. They have the best sales. The only downside is their location to where we live. They are way north on Lancaster. So sometimes, we go to other stores first and then go to Big 5 if we can't find what we need closer to home.

I sure do miss Anderson Sporting Goods in Salem. Big 5 makes an effort, but it is just not good enough for the serious athelete. when I go into a sporting goods store I want to feel like I could ask a question from the staff and get an answer that maybe i didn't know, but thats not what i get from Big 5. Also they don't even have better equipment. I went in there the other day and there was about the same limited choices for baseball bats that you could find at Walmart. Aren't they suppose to be a specialty store.

This store is pretty big and carries many types of sporting goods. The have everything for all the regular sports, plus items for camping, hunting, fishing... etc. The employees are great- very helpful and friendly. The prices are pretty fair, too.
