My sister is a real estate agent in Portland. She works with many different movers and gave me the name of two to call. She said I would probably get a better rate for such a long move with these guys but just in case gave me two options. She was right. The difference between quotes was ridiculous. We practically couldn't have done it ourselves for what they quoted us. And the second company was so out of the ball park we couldn't have paid our mortgage for a couple of months to get them. The guy I talked to came out and did an estimate and looked at what we had. I had the chance to meet him and really show him what I wanted and needed. We have two kids, one of which is a new baby so I was pretty particular about what I wanted. They showed up a few minutes late but I expected that because they called and were stuck on Hwy 26 due to an accident. They worked hard right up until lunch time. They took a well earned break, came back and worked hard till the end of the day. The next day showed up early and took off with our stuff. It would be an all day trip. They kept in touch with us all the way and showed up right on time with everything right in its place. Nothing turned over or broken. They worked again as hard to unload us and get our house set up enough to sleep in. The next morning before they left to go back they came by and did a few little things that were a huge help to me, such as hook up my washer and dryer and put together my sons bunkbed. I have not had this easy of a move in all my moves, even when they were just across town. There is a price for everything and the stress they saved me was worth any price. I have told everyone I know that is moving to call them. Thank you Best Moving.

I don't ordinarily write reviews one way or the other, but my experience with this company was so poor that I need to for catharsis. This company's service and dependability is horrid, and you should know about it before it happens to you.

My husband and I were moving out of state, and we called and hired this company to (1) box our stuff up and (2) load a couple of moving trucks a couple days later. BIG MISTAKE. I told them I got a babysitter and I needed them to be on time; he replied they might be ten minutes late, but they would be there. On the first day, they showed up TWO HOURS LATE. Once here, they worked relatively hard but took frequent smoke breaks on the clock. I left them to do their own thing, they finished, and I tried to get over it. Even though I told them to leave the food, they packed my bread and other food. I opened up a couple of boxes to look for the bread and was really disappointed by the packing job I found; almost all of the boxes had plenty of room for more. I repacked most of the boxes, tried to get over it, and just waited for the loading day.

I called the day before they were scheduled to come and stressed that this time THEY HAD TO BE ON TIME. I was assured they would be. The next morning, my husband and his dad drove to Lake O to pick up the trucks, and I waited...and waited. By the time my husband and his dad were back, the packers were an hour and a half late. I called, and talked to the same guy I talked to the day before; he told me he was still rounding up guys and would try to be there in an hour!!! We called our church group, and were able to get some guys up to help last minute, and I called and cancelled the moving company guys. I told him he had made a nice girl really mad and I would do everything I could to get the word out on them.

Moving is stressful enough---flaky movers made that day a nightmare. If you use these guys, you will regret it.
