Best place on westside for German and Swedish autos!
This is by far the best auto repair shop I've ever been associated with! Darby and Teri run a great operation and truly care about doing the right thing for their clients. I love the service and how they take time to explain everything to make sure you understand what's going on with your auto. My wife and I only began taking our VW and Saab there recently, but they quickly won us over and we'll continue bringing our autos there. You can trust them for sure and it's evident in the number of satisfied clients they have. I love those guys!!

The best German car service shop in Portland!
Honestly, five stars are not enough for Autohaus Bayern. They are hands down the best shop in Portland for German cars!

I've been taking my 1997 BMW 528i there for over 5 years. Nearly 100,000 of the 150,000+ miles on the car have been serviced by Autohaus Bayern. We've been through a lot; oil services, inspections, breaks, radiators, thermostats, auxiliary fans, vacuum pumps, etc...

The service from Autohaus Bayern is always the best and their prices are fair and reasonable. The crew at Autohaus Bayern always makes sure you know what's going on with your car - they are detailed and thorough in their communication and recommendations.

Even on the most difficult problems, like an unusual overheating issue that took a lot of diagnosing and several visits to find, Autohaus Bayern's professionalism and commitment to service was exceptional. They were determined to find the problem and fix it - which they did exceptionally well.

I truly can't say enough good things about Autohaus Bayern and the crew there. They are friendly and professional - truly great mechanics. My advice is to call or stop by and see what they can do for you.

P.S. - Tell them Travis sent you ;-)

Service and An Education
My wife and I appreciate that she can take in her 2005 ML500 for top quality and professional service. The staff at Autohaus is always willing to take extra time to explain any car related issue. They prices are very reasonable compared to dealer shops with more personal attention. Thanks for making a difference for your customers.

Autohaus questionalble ethics
OK let me start by saying this is my fourth used BMW & like all the others given me plenty of great driving. I understand that these cars have there quirks & need the extra love they earn. I am no stranger to leaking Power steering hoses, coolant leaks in tough spots to fix, intake vac leaks and "touchy" Service engine soon lights.
I have heard of Autohause Bayern searching on the internet. There are some good things said there. The only bad thing is a question about there ethics. I also question the "truthyness".
My car has been operating like a swiss watch, perfect! until the "Service Engine Soon" light turned on. I made an appointment for the next day to have them look at the car. The codes were "fuel trim" so they (AUTOHAUS BAYERN) say. I should note here that they never gave me the actual code even though I asked for them. They time & time again would not specify. They did a smoke test to try & find the more-common-than-not vacum leak. They said they found a leak in the intake manifold. That explains the Service light very nicely. Then it gets weird the owner tells me that there is an unfortunate thing wrong with the car. She tells me that there is a "Problem" in the head gaskets & that the heads will have to come off to replace them. The weird thing is that she would not use the word "leak" she called it a "Chemical Barrier" test. She says that "this is a empirical test that detects exhaust gases in the coolant " I will note here that the dealer does not know of this test & the car has no evidence of using coolant the coolant has shown no discoloring. Nor has the car been burning oil. She continues to tell me, in a fear generating tone, that the total bill will be around $5500.00 & needed to be done ASAP. I of course sought out 2 more pro opinions including dealer. Both say car is fine & the vacum leak will fix "service light" also dealer nor independent shop found any gasket or coolant problems. They also question AUTOHAUSE BAYERN diagnoses.
